Our Political Life Meets a Heart of Compassion
How to Face the Mess We’re In
Saturday, April 21, 2018
9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
An experiential retreat that explores how to evoke creative, compassionate and transformational responses to the crises of our time.
Practical and Transformative
This one day retreat will focus on listening to our heart of compassion as we explore our own individual and collective ability to meet the challenges of this time.
It will follow Joanna Macy’s creative empowerment approach to eco-justice and social justice issues through her elegant small group processes practiced and developed over the years throughout the U.S. and all over the world. Joanna Macy, a respected voice in the movements for peace, justice, and ecology, has been interweaving spirituality with activism for over 50 years.
Participants learn the transformative art and skill of deep listening – how to listen to the voice within, the voice of our fellow human beings, and the voice of Earth. The process includes the use of dyads, journaling, guided imagery, mystic poetry, and wandering on the land.
