Land and Gardens

Garden ProgramsThe Earth & Spirit Center is nestled on 20.6 acres behind the Passionist monastery within the city of Louisville. The gardens, outdoor classroom, and our historic, renovated brick barn create an ideal setting to explore topics including growing food, life sciences, sustainable agriculture and caring for creation.

We offer creative, hands-on, interdisciplinary field trip experiences for children in grades K-8. Research shows that children are happier and healthier when they feel a personal connection to the natural world.  These programs:

  • Connect young people to the wonders of the natural world
  • Experience an edible classroom within a urban setting
  • Educate students on nutrition and food issues
  • Nurture lifelong practical skills

Kid's Garden ProgramsWe offer similar experiences for adults through our Voices of the Earth programming.
