Joseph Mitchell, CP  

Joe Mitchell is a Catholic priest and member of the Passionist religious community. He studied theology at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago and earned a graduate degree in Philosophy, Cosmology and Consciousness from the California Institute of Integral Studies. His ministry includes presenting retreats in Christian spirituality, meditation courses, religious environmental programs, as well as workshops in the new cosmology and the Great Work.

kyle kramer

Executive Director 

Kyle Kramer 

Kyle Kramer did his undergraduate studies at Indiana University (Bloomington) and the Universität Hamburg (Germany) in comparative religion, Germanic studies, and vocal music.  He earned a Master of Divinity from Emory University and has lived and worked for over two decades at the intersection of ecology and spirituality. He and his family spent fifteen years as organic farmers and homesteaders in Spencer County, Indiana. He also served as the director of graduate theology programs and spiritual formation for Saint Meinrad, a Benedictine monastery and school of theology. A nationally known speaker and writer, Kyle is a current columnist for St. Anthony Messenger magazine, a former columnist for America magazine, serves as a Catholic Climate Ambassador for the Catholic Climate Covenant, and is the author of A Time to Plant: Life Lessons in Work, Prayer, and Dirt (Ave Maria Press, 2010).  A trained musician and former parish music director, Kyle sings and also plays piano and guitar.

Natasha Burrowes

Natasha Burrowes is a spiritual director, workshop leader, retreat facilitator, educator, and writer. Her educational, professional, and ministerial pathways have focused on the intersections of spirituality and justice making. Natasha has over 20 years of experience working in nonprofit, higher education, community-based, and faith-based settings. She earned a Masters of Arts Degree in Transforming Spirituality (MATS) with an emphasis in Spiritual Direction from Seattle University’s School for Theology and Ministry and also earned a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Ethnic Studies and African American Studies.

Beth Zangari

Beth Zangari, who holds a B.S. degree from the University of Louisville, has been active in developing discussion courses for adult education and environmental education programs for children. She coordinates communication for the Earth & Spirit Center, which includes managing the database, website, and newsletter.

Donna is from Louisville, KY.  She is a retired JCPS Teacher, Media Specialist and Technology Coordinator with a BA degree in Education and Music Education from Brescia University, MA degree in Education from Spalding University and a MA degree in Library Media Services and Information Technology from Spalding University.

Mary Margaret Grimes

Financial Manager

Mary Margaret Grimes

Mary Margaret Grimes attended University of Kentucky and has worked in the automotive industry (as a financial manager and as  Ford Motor Company’s first woman automotive service director in the USA) and owned an industrial equipment company. She is a past president of the Clark County Indiana Mental Health Association, continues there as a facilitator, and is also involved in the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill.

Phyllis Fitzgerald

Phyllis Fitzgerald 

Phyllis Fitzgerald, an environmental educator and activist for more than 30 years, has served in government, corporate, non-profit, and school settings. She holds degrees from the University of Kentucky and University of Louisville, with additional training and experience in environmental education, air pollution, energy conservation, sustainable food, community building, and gardening. She has worked as a journalist for The Courier-Journal and WAVE-TV.

Tim Darst

Tim Darst 

Tim Darst has a Masters in Environmental Education from the University of Louisville and a Masters in Sustainability and Environmental Management from Harvard University. He is the Executive Director of Kentucky Interfaith Power & Light, a non-profit organization that works to help people make the connection between theology and ecology.  He serves on the board of directors of the Louisville Sustainability Council and the Louisville Climate Action Network, and is on the Advisory Committee for the Louisville/Jefferson County Metro Government Waste Management District.

 

David Horvath

David Horvath

David Horvath serves as coordinator for the North American Passionist JPIC Desk (Justice, Peace and the Integrity of Creation).  David has a BA in History and Philosophy and a Masters Degree in Museum Studies from the State University of New York. He previously worked as the Communication Director and Program Staff for JustFaith Ministries. He is deeply involved in social justice work through parish, local and national organizing.
